Third-grade pupils visited the Bachkovo spring water plant

On National Revival Leaders’ Day, class 3c of the “St Konstantin-Kiril the Philosopher” Secondary School in Plovdiv, with their class teacher Mrs Paraskova, visited the Bachkovo spring water bottling plant. Located 1.5 km from the remarkable Bachkovo Monastery, the plant is equipped with a high-tech system that allows the water to be bottled right at the spring, so it remains untouched by human hands throughout the process, guaranteeing purity and a unique taste. Bachkovo spring water rises in an ecologically clean region next to the Red Wall reserve, which is under UNESCO protection. The water, which comes from a natural captured spring, is bottled without any additional treatment technologies. The whole process was presented to the curious third-graders, and after an exciting walk around the production lines they took a keen interest in learning curious facts about the history of the spring, its location, the qualities and parameters of Bachkovo spring water, and, last but not least, the daily need for good hydration, which guarantees health. In an engaging way they learned which water parameters are important for a child’s body and that spring water is what gives them the necessary amount of minerals. The children showed curiosity about the continuous, automated production process, which is under constant laboratory control provided by an in-house and an external laboratory. Besides the process itself, the new bottle with its fun label and coloured caps also aroused interest. On the initiative of their class teacher, Mrs Paraskova, they will collect all the coloured caps during the school year and donate them to a noble cause
