National campaign “Mission Sport of Favourite Heroes”
A noble cause gets children to play more sport.
Bulgaria’s Olympic, world and European medallists are joining the noble initiative “Mission Sport of Favourite Heroes”, a national campaign that aims to draw children aged 6 to 10 into sport. At the heart of the project is one of our golden girls, Reneta Kamberova, who won bronze with the rhythmic gymnastics ensemble at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. The campaign aims to introduce children to 14 sports, each represented by a favourite champion and a cartoon character. National football team coach Petar Hubchev, together with Luvcho, Tervel Pulev and Vulcho, our first racket Viktoria Tomova with Masha, Vlado Nikolov, Hristiana Todorova, Denislav Kodzhabashev, Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva, Asen Velikov, Elitsa Yankova, world boxing champion Detelin Dalakliev and many other favourite heroes are supporting the initiative, which started on 24 November in Pazardzhik. The campaign then continues in Pleven on 2 December. The events are held in halls with hundreds of children taking part, and various “sports corners” are set up where the little ones, divided into groups, get to know the specifics of different sports up close. The groups rotate every 20 minutes. Bachkovo spring water follows its tradition of supporting children’s sport and will make sure all the young athletes who have chosen to meet their favourite heroes are well hydrated.
