National Music and Dance Competition “A Little Bird Sings - 2019”

The eighth National Music and Dance Competition “A Little Bird Sings - 2019” was held in Sofia under the patronage of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria and the mayor of Sofia, Mrs Yordanka Fandakova. The competition aims to preserve, enrich and spread Bulgarian folklore, as well as the songs of the great singer Nadka Karadzhova. Through joint efforts, the organisers and a professional jury gave folk talents the chance and motivation to create, to improve and to enter an open competition to prove their talent. This year the organisers prepared one-year scholarships for individual performers - singers, musicians, amateur ensembles and dance groups, regardless of category and age - as well as Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. The competition differs from similar ones in that all the laureates - scholarship holders (individuals or ensembles) - take part in prestigious concerts throughout the following year through the project “Lights and Talents”. We at Nova Trade support the competition. We believe that, thanks to folklore, every nation manages to preserve its national identity, to learn about and protect its traditions and customs, and to share them with the world in the most dignified way. We value competitions as symbols of rich spirituality and patriotism.
