Mission Lauta 2

Nearly 500 volunteers took part in the second edition of the large-scale initiative to clear dry vegetation from Lauta Park. Titled “Mission Lauta 2”, it was organised jointly by Kostadin Dimitrov, mayor of Trakia District, Veselin Kozarev, director of the municipal enterprise “Gardens and Parks”, and like-minded supporters.

Over the weekend, children, women and men aged from 5 to 80 contributed to looking after the “lungs” of Trakia District. Among them were servicemen from the Joint Special Operations Command, athletes, students, representatives of the city’s Ukrainian community, local residents and other citizens for whom Lauta Park is a favourite place. They put time and energy into carrying branches and trees out to places accessible to the machinery.

For the second year running, Bachkovo spring water took care of their hydration.

In the first three hours alone, the machinery hauled away 22 truckloads of dry vegetation that had been prepared in advance by the municipal enterprise’s staff.

After their hard work, the participants in “Mission Lauta 2” gathered by the stage, where Kerana sang for the volunteers.
