Borovets hosted the Dr Emil Iliev International Jazz Festival

The festival has a long history, but this is the first time it has been held in our winter resort. The event’s director, Dr Tatyana Ilieva, ambitiously declared that the organisers’ aim is to make the Borovets resort complex a better-known cultural destination than the Swiss town of Montreux, host of a world-famous jazz festival. The international event in Borovets featured musical luminaries from Bulgaria, Brazil, North Macedonia, the United Kingdom, Jamaica, Serbia, Italy and South Korea. Familiar names include Vasil Petrov, the Vlatko Stefanovski Trio, Rosalia de Souza, Mihail Yosifov, Julian Marley, the Antonio Flinta Quartet, Antoni Donchev and many others.
