Basketball legends organise an international camp in Panagyurishte

Young talents will hone their skills with some of the best Bulgarian specialists

The international children’s camp Future Stars Basket Camp is organised by players and coaches of Plovdiv’s Academic Bultex 99 together with Bulgarian basketball legend and former national team coach Georgi Mladenov. For the second year in a row the initiative is undertaken by two of the stars of Plovdiv basketball, Dinko Marshavelski and Dimitar “Mitko” Dimitrov. The main organisers and coaches are Dinko Marshavelski, a former player of Academic Bultex 99 and the national team, who played in the American college championship and graduated from Boston University, and Dimitar Dimitrov, a three-time champion and Bulgarian national player. They are joined by one of our best-known women coaches, with recognised skills in working with young people, Tina Dimitrova, current sports director of Academic Bultex 99, as well as one of the best specialists in working with children, Yordan Ivanov. The summer children’s camp will take place in Panagyurishte from 8 to 21 July. It will be divided into two parts, as around 120 children are expected - girls and boys aged 10 to 18 from Bulgaria and abroad. The main goal the organisers have set is to improve the individual skills of the young talents, with training varied by plenty of fun games and trips to the mountains. The camp will offer a different, intensive training session focused on building character and confidence on the court. The coaches will also work on the participants’ mindset and self-confidence, combining training with plenty of surprises. “Nova Trade” Ltd will take care of the hydration of the young talents throughout the camp, supporting the participants’ daily training with the necessary amount of Bachkovo spring water.
