The ninth-year campaign for healthy eating, sport and proper hydration “Let’s Be Healthy” 2019 begins
The children of the “Little Prince” kindergarten showed how to eat more healthily and which foods are more and less beneficial. The occasion was the start of the 9th edition of the “Let’s Be Healthy” campaign in the kindergartens of Plovdiv Municipality. It was opened by deputy mayor Stefan Stoyanov and Donka Shtilyanova, head of the Education department. Through a variety of interesting games the children managed to separate healthy from unhealthy products. They learned about the main food groups - cereals, vegetables, fruit, fats, meat and dairy - and the need to eat a varied and balanced diet through the day. The campaign is free of charge and is part of Plovdiv Municipality’s educational policy for children of early age. It is also in line with the introduction of teaching, upbringing and socialisation of children in municipal kindergartens through the Montessori method. The children of the “Little Prince” kindergarten put together puzzles of fruit and vegetables and played in a healthy shop where they simply choose products and sort foods into healthy and harmful. Varied and healthy prizes were provided for all the children, and we at Nova Trade delighted the little ones with an educational colouring leaflet that teaches in a fun way how to eat healthily and how much water to drink. For the proper hydration of all children in the pre-school groups, the company will donate “Bachkovo” spring water from its children’s line. The cheerful mood of the celebration was enhanced by the bottle’s new children’s look, with pretty coloured caps and fun labels. As part of the initiative, free meetings and consultations with healthy-eating specialists will also be held for parents. In 2019 the “Let’s Be Healthy” campaign will reach more than 6,000 children from 61 municipal kindergartens.
