The cause “Water for Health” united business and medics
The hospitals of the Bulfarma group and “Bachkovo” spring water join hands in a new social project
For the second year running, the healthcare facilities of the Bulfarma Ltd group and “Bachkovo” spring water are starting the joint initiative “Water Is Health”. The social campaign includes Sofiamed University Hospital, Pulmed University Hospital, Burgasmed Hospital, the Zdrave Medical Centre - Pazardzhik, Zdrave Hospital - Velingrad, and Prof. D. Ranev Hospital - Peshtera. In June, July and August all the hospitals will receive as a donation a total of 30 thousand 1.5-litre bottles of spring water for their patients.
The initiative aims to remind people that regular water consumption is extremely important for the healthy functioning of the human body and for the proper course of its vital processes. Water intake is important for maintaining the body’s fluid balance, and in summer the need for it is even greater, as the body actively regulates its temperature through sweating, releasing large amounts of water. The human body is about 70-75% water. That is why specialists advise, especially in the summer months, increasing the intake of water and fluids to avoid dehydration and the health problems that follow from it.
Patients with chronic diseases, with cardiovascular diseases, on antihypertensive therapy, diabetics, overweight people and pregnant women should be especially careful when exposed to the sun and high temperatures.
All healthcare facilities in the Bulfarma group provide cool and comfortable conditions in the hospital premises during the hottest months. Following doctors’ recommendation to drink at least 1.5 litres of water a day in summer, every patient will receive one large bottle of “Bachkovo” spring water. “Bachkovo” spring water has a neutral pH of 7.23 and low mineralisation, which provide a natural and healthy environment for the normal function of all human organs.
The content of minerals and salts in “Bachkovo” spring water meets the daily needs of the human body and makes it suitable for everyday use by the whole family without unnecessary strain on the body. “Bachkovo” spring water is drawn from a natural captured spring located in the Red Wall reserve in the Rhodope Mountains, which is under UNESCO protection.
